Labor Day shifts Boca trash pickup by one day
City offices close Monday, Felice plans 150 Town Center seats, and Gumbo Limbo has a free family BioBlitz.
Boca’s Monday trash routes move to Tuesday for Labor Day. Felice is headed to Town Center, ALINA reports 10 developer units left, and Gumbo Limbo has a free Saturday BioBlitz.
Monday, September 7 changes more than City Hall hours. Boca Raton will close city offices and services for Labor Day, then resume normal operations Tuesday. There will be no sanitation collection Monday. Monday routes move to Tuesday, and Tuesday routes move to Wednesday.
The Downtown and Spanish River libraries, Boca Raton Community Center, Sugar Sand Field House and Cemetery Office will also be closed. Parks, beaches and playgrounds stay on their regular schedules. Sugar Sand Community Center is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Swim & Racquet Community Center, including its splash pad, runs 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Boca Raton Golf & Racquet Club and Alan C. Alford Red Reef Family Golf Course stay open 7 a.m. to sunset. Felice is bringing Tuscan dining to Town Center
Felice plans to open a restaurant at Town Center as part of a Florida expansion that includes Brickell and West Palm Beach. Felice began as an Upper East Side restaurant in New York, and its concept combines Tuscan cooking with a wine bar. The menu centers on handmade pasta and wine tied to founder Jacopo Giustiniani’s family winemaking history.
The Boca restaurant is planned for 150 seats across a dining room, bar and patio. Bonetti/Kozerski Architecture, which designed Felice Flatiron in New York City, is handling the Tuscan-inspired interior. The restaurant is expected to open this fall or winter.
ALINA’s final building is down to 10 developer units
Developer El-Ad National Properties says downtown’s ALINA Residences has passed $90 million in 2026 sales, including more than $30 million during the past two months. Recent purchases were priced from about $6 million to nearly $7 million.
ALINA has 303 residences across three nine-story buildings between downtown and The Boca Raton resort. ALINA 200 and 210 are sold out and occupied, while 10 developer residences remain in ALINA 220. The development recently received one of Forbes Travel Guide’s inaugural VERIFIED Luxury Residences designations. Residents have access to more than three acres of amenities, including rooftop pools, fitness centers, spa facilities, club rooms, yoga spaces and a golf simulator.
Sunday’s Explorium project turns a science concept into a take-home craft

This monthly Make & Take pairs a simple science concept with a craft kids can bring home. The tessellation mosaic project is for ages 5 and up, and each activity takes about 30 minutes. No preregistration is required.

Gumbo Limbo Nature Center is hosting a Parks for Pollinators BioBlitz for families Saturday, with the same program returning Sunday. Activities and art projects focus on protecting pollinators, followed by a trail count of pollinators and pollinator-friendly plants.
Saturday’s free session runs from 1 to 3 p.m. at 1801 N. Ocean Boulevard. Walk-ins are welcome and reservations are not required. The event is open to all ages, and children under 18 must attend with a parent or guardian. Contact the event organizer for tickets and details.
