The National Hurricane Center is watching two systems flanking Florida. Chances are rising that one of them forms in the Gulf of Mexico.
This is not a forecast for Boca, but it is worth watching now instead of waiting until midweek. Storm odds early in the week often look different by midweek.
Early September is the busiest stretch of the season. A shaded area on the map can turn into a named storm in a couple of days. Nothing about that is unusual for this date.

Maman, a French cafe and bakery, is opening at Shadowood Square in West Boca Raton.
Shadowood Square is already being revamped. For West Boca, Maman adds a new cafe-and-bakery option to the mix.
That side of town has not had many places like it within a short drive. If Glades Road is your daily route, this one has a decent chance of landing in your regular rotation.
Feeding nuisance wildlife is now against the rules
City Council has banned the feeding of nuisance wildlife in Boca Raton. The new ordinances carry penalty fines.
This is one of those quiet rules that touches a lot of daily habits. Tossing scraps out back. Leaving a bowl on the patio. Keeping a pile going near the water. All of it now sits on the wrong side of a city ordinance.
